SINCE WHEN??? Hightlights ~ Part 2

15 December 2014 ... Happy Birthday Norma!!!!
We are born in the same year so today Norma caught up with me in the age stakes.  She invited us to dinner at her house along with her son Wesley and his girlfriend Sam; Mom; Gordon & Noleen; my niece Gina and her son Brad; my nephew Dean and his fiance Marisa; Wendy & Graeme; and her friend LeeAnne.  We had a lovely evening filled with great company and food.

16 December 2014 ... Rain Rain Go Away!!!!!
We had wanted to go for a walk at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens today with Alison and her sister Caron but awoke to pouring rain so we decided to meet at The Silver Birch @ Lifestyle instead.  We had a lovely breakfast and then wandered through Reader's Warehouse and some of the other shops.

On our way out I took a photo of Connor with Father Christmas.

We popped past our friends Lorenzo and Marian to drop off their Christmas gifts ... Just as well we did as they are leaving tomorrow to go to Bredasdorp for Christmas.  After a lovely visit we went through to Clearwater Mall where I updated my wardrobe at Contempo.  On our way home we popped past The Glen for Connor to go to BT Games.  Connor and I had a wonderful day together.

13 - 17 December 2014 ~ Richard to Hogsback
Richard and a new friend Richard drove through to Hogsback on Saturday 13 December and had to endure a lot of bad weather.  When he got home and unpacked his poor jacket looked like a mud pit as a result of a fall in bad weather.  All in all he had a lovely weekend and I missed him like crazeeeeee!!!

17 December 2014 ... Sisters Dinner

The four of us got together at Casa Rossi (Norma's choice as it is her birthday month) and we exchanged Christmas gifts and had a lovely stress free meal.

As usual the camera was in attendance.

18 December 2014 ~ Friends Christmas Breakfast

Today I met my friends Linda Le Warne and Linda Wood at Tasha's in Rivonia for a Christmas breakfast.  As usual Linda spoiled Connor and me rotten!!!!

I got there really early and did some work before the other girls got there.  We had a lovely morning.

18 December 2014 ~ Dinner & Barry Hilton @ Gold Reef Casino

Mom booked us tickets to see Barry Hilton tonight so we went to Vigour & Verve for dinner before the show ... This is a new restaurant which replaced News Cafe.  I ordered flash fried calamari ~ It didn't say on the menu that it was a calamari steak and it was horrible.  The veggies and chips were divine though.  The waitress gave me a slice of cake to compensate for the meal ~ A scrumptuous slice of carrot cake.
The show was wonderful.

Of course with all these lights the subject of load shedding came up!!!

20 December 2014 ... Ilse & Rita's Wedding @ Glenburn Lodge

Ilse is the manager at our Sandton Branch.  She invited Richard and I to her wedding along with my friend Sam and her husband Petrus.  We had an absolutely lovely time at the wedding.

Her son Eduan played a big role in the wedding and had a wonderful time himself.

My wedding gift to the couple was this wooden box and I attached a tag with the following message ...
As you start out this exciting journey together we wish you love, joy and all the happiness your hearts can hold.

This little gift has the following heartfelt wishes from our hearts to yours …
Scones (scone mix) … So those in your home may never know hunger
Candles … So you always have light even through the darkest times
Sugar … So you always enjoy the sweetness of life
Salt … So your life always has flavour
Wood … So your home always has stability, harmony and peace.
I also made them a wedding card (which I forgot to take a photo of!!!)

Sam and me with the river behind us and Ilse and Eduan looking very dapper!

22 December 2014 ... Haircuts
I wanted to get our hair cut in December and Norma said that the hairdresser where Kirsten (our hairdresser and also Norma's friend and hairdresser) was not closing however the owner decided that they were in fact closing so we were unable to get an appointment at the last minute.  Norma arranged for Kirsten to cut our hair at her house.  We had such a fun time!!! Here is my funny boy having his hair cut ...

I LOVE this new hairstyle!!!!!  And at least I managed to get a shot of the sunset!!!!

  1. Wow I can't imagine having two babies in one year. Your mother must have been a strong woman. Lovely photos Lynn.

I do however appreciate having sisters who are close in age now.
