HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALI!

My very special friend Ali turned 50 on 17 January and spent the weekend away with her family.

Ali invited her girl friends to a Ladies Tea at the Afrique Boutique Hotel in Ruimsig.

I fetched Linda Wood and we drove through together and found this delightful venue close to the Botanical Gardens.  OMWord!!! It was a wonderful afternoon filled with amazing company, good food, an interesting discussion about tea with the girls from The Tea Merchant at Clearwater Mall and then some divine cupcakes made by our friend Tanya from Blooming Beautiful Bakes.

Welcome to the 50's Ali!!!!

Ali's precious niece Elizabeth doing a model post for me ...
 Leonie and Linda ...
Ali's hair looked gorgeous with two beautiful flower clips she bought in Italy ...
 The gorgeous birthday girl ...
 The Tea Merchant
The cupcake master!!!!
 The cupcake master ... Tanya
The kids made pizzas for lunch ... three gorgeous girls in a row!!!
 Princess Bohlale a.k.a. Boo ...
The cupcakes had cat toppers ...

Caramel cheese cake ... although I am not mad about cheese cake I decided to try this out and it was yummy!!!

We heard that there was an owl outside the hotel so I went out to investigate and found this owl sitting on the rocks ... I asked it how close I was allowed to come and it sat watching me and allowed me to get really close.  Apparently they are always there so they are obviously used to people.  What a beautiful bird ...
When we were leaving it's partner had come down from the tree and allowed me to photograph it as well ...

What a perfect ending to a beautiful afternoon!!!

    1. Hey Shawna, Ali sure does look radiant. I saw a photo of her on her blog which is absolutely magnificent (whisperedcomfort.blogspot.com)

It is in fact a blouse ... I don't wear it often enough but love it.
