Around Here ...

27 January ... After a hectic day at work I decided that I was going to bake Connor cupcakes ~ I keep promising and not coming through.  I got home and got everything ready.  I put 3 eggs into the food processor and started beating them when the power went off ... urrgghhhhh!!!! Load Shedding!!!!

Eventually at around 18h45 we went down the road to The Glen and had a burger at Spur ... Here are my gorgeous guys ...
When we walked in the door 2 hours later I could hear this sound ... what on earth is that??? The beater had been going for the past hour since the lights went out ... OMGoodness!!!! 3 eggs looks pretty amazing after being beaten for an hour.  Well, I started again and about an hour later my boys were eating cupcakes, much to Connor's delight!

30 January ... My friend Mandy invited us to her wedding today.  When she sent out the "Save The Day" she said ... apply for your leave now which I duly did. Although the wedding is only at 15h30 I decided to not cancel my full day's leave and decided that I would spend the morning with Connor as he was booked off after dislocating his shoulder.  So last night I stayed at the office until 20h30 and got as much as I could  done ... even sent out the motivational message for today as I decided that I was NOT logging onto my computer today!  Connor and I started off at the photo shop and then decided to have breakfast ... we called Wendy and asked her if she wanted to join us and the three of us had a lovely time.  It was then time to go home and get ready.

When Richard got home he changed and I finished up and we were on our way.  The wedding and reception was in a hall at the Greek Orthodox Church in Krugersdorp.  It was a lovely service followed by an enjoyable reception.

Hope the two of them continue to hold on to each other tightly and that they are extremely happy!!!!

My hunny only just managed to capture the spectacular sunset for me ...
Here's to Brent & Mandy ... Happily Every after ... To infinity and beyond!!!!
3 February ... We dropped our bearded dragon off at the pet shop on Sunday as she seemed to be a bit constipated and we were told we could pick "her" up today ~ The very miserable girl at the counter advised us that Maggie is actually a boy!!.  We arrived only to be told by a very helpful guy that he didn't want us to take her home yet as she was not yet 100%.  A bit disappointing but we need to do what is best for our pet.  I took these photos at the pet shop ...

7 February ...  Congratulations on completing your 19th parkrun and your 18th at Rietvlei Parkrun, JHB South today. You finished in 773rd place and were the 354th female out of a field of 1125 parkrunners and you came 30th in your age category.  Your time was 00:53:52. Your best time this year remains 00:53:41.

I dropped my car at the car wash and joined Wendy and Liam at the start.  Liam decided that he was going to run so went closer to the front.  Wendy walked with me for a while and then did a bit of jogging.  We joined Liam at the coffee shop afterwards where we had wonderful coffee however had to send our breakfast back as it was ice cold.  When it returned I had a rubber egg so sent it back.  We made up for the less than great breakfast with a second cuppa coffee.

This is the view from the coffee shop ...

I met my hunny and Connor at The Glen where they had bought us a new TV for the lounge ... our TV had all but given up the ghost ... some days there is a picture ... some days not and some days there is sound ... and some days not!!!  I got an SMS saying that the blood service would be at The Glen outside Truworths from 10h00 however they were not there at 10h15!!! I was really disappointed as I really wanted to give blood today.  We came home, Connor showered and I drove him through to his friend Dylan as they are going to a 21st tonight.  The theme is Casino and they decided that they were going to wear black and gold ... we found gold bow ties yesterday afternoon at Cresta where we stopped on our way home ... Here are "The Boys" ...
