Bryanston Organic Market ~ 27 April 2014

Mandela Casting his vote in 1994
Yesterday was Freedom Day in South Africa ~ Wikipedia has this to say ... Freedom Day is an annual celebration of South Africa's first non-racial democratic elections of 1994. Peace, unity, the preservation and the restoration of human dignity hallmarks Freedom Day celebrations on the 27th of April of each year.

In South Africa if a public holiday falls on a Sunday we get the Monday off as well.

My celebration of Freedom Day was a visit to the Bryanston Organic and Natural Market ~ I have wanted to visit this market for such a long time but never got around to it so when Ali told me that there was a special market on the 27th we decided to tick this off the bucket list and pay them a visit.  Now being a lover of the market in Irene we decided to get there a bit early and get a cuppa coffee ... we were disappointed to find that at 08h30 the stalls were still being set up where at Irene the stalls are ready to serve by then.

We found a little restaurant who agreed to serve us a cuppa coffee so we sat and enjoyed that in the sunshine while waiting for 09h00.

We ambled around the market and the only thing that really caught my eye was an artist who does pictures out of beads.

Ali bought this gorgeous basket which was claimed by Princess Ruby ... Isn't she adorable!?

Connor made a comment that it is a tick on the bucket list ... I say "Been there, done that and certainly not rushing back for a second visit".  Irene Village Market here I come!!!

Thanks for sharing the morning with me my friend.

When we left the market Connor and I visited Nicolway shopping centre and were rather disappointed by the Exclusive Books there.  We popped into Food Lovers Market to get some liquorice Jelly Belly and then had an enjoyable drive back home.
