Pedicures and Veggie Tunnels

It is Tuesday afternoon already ... where has the last 3 days gone???

SUNDAY : On Saturday morning I arranged to have a wax and pedicure on Sunday in preparation for our holiday (not that I am going to be wearing a costume!!!).  After my appointment I popped past Chicago Coffee Shop in Meyersdal and had coffee with Gordon and Noleen.  Connor asked if he could see his cousins so we popped past Wendy's house for coffee.  I had treated Wendy to a pedicure on Saturday and loved the colour she chose so had my toes painted in the same colour.
Graeme pointed out that all the boys were wearing red t-shirts ...
A quiet evening in front of the TV watching Strictly Come Dancing and Downton Abbey ensued.

MONDAY : Well today is the day that I hand over my Rivonia Arterial Area to my colleague Delphine ... I am really unhappy about this but as 'they' say change is the only constant in life so I better find that big girl pill and drink it soon.  Although I think it can wait until I get back from holiday!!!

Connor asked if he could come to Sandton with me as he wasn't writing an exam.  On the way through there was another magnificent sunrise.  We had a quick breakfast at Mugg & Bean and I worked on my e-mails.  While I was in Manco Connor went to watch KickAss 2 and then did some clothes shopping.

This is my amazing Rivonia Arterial Team ...
Eliana, Rene, Ilse, Marina, Logie, Zelma, Sally, Steve, me and Eddie

I was given this package spectacularly wrapped by Eddie which contained a gorgeous scrapbook as a farewell gift ... Thanks guys!!!

On our way home from Sandton we stopped in at Herbert Evans in Rosebank to get extension screws for the Wedding Album Project, grabbed some Wakkaberri and then got caught in horrendous traffic ~ thankfully it wasn't so bad because I had Connor with me.  Richard then managed to finish off the album and it is gorgeous.

TUESDAY : Today was Veggie Tunnel Day ... We met up at Key West Shopping Centre and the bus took us deep into Kagiso.  The school already has 3 Veggie Tunnels which were erected by Builders Warehouse and the Community Workers Programme was working on them today ... it looks like they may have been neglected during winter ~ which is quite sad as all that hard work has to be done again!

I was so happy to be working with my two boys Mpho (Branch Manager @ Krugersdorp CBD) and Evalt (Service Champion @ Sandton)

And so the hard work begins ... These are the student helpers ...
Mpho, Evalt and Sam working with the sand that goes into the black bags ...
 Then the planting begins ...

Yet another rewarding Veggie Tunnel experience.
