Annual Leave ... Scrapbooking Weekend Away

Although it is my first day of leave I was still up early as I had some errands to run before I left for The Good Shepherd Retreat in Haartebeespoort  ... Connor forgot his glasses at Byron's house so we popped past there to fetch them, then popped past Wendy for coffee (I had some Lindt choccies for her), then to Scrap Crazee @ Meyersdal Mall and lastly to Post Net at The Glen.
Usually when we go away we do Scrap Queen Gifts ... we each buy two items times 5 for each Scrap Addicts.  This time Ali suggested that we each design a page and make packs for each of the girls with the supplies to make this page.  I decided on this page from the Wedding Album Project ...
I will show the completed page once I do it.
I got the basics from Bonsai Huisie in Krugersdorp a while ago but wanted to get some more goodies to add to the pack so we went to Scrap Crazee and then to Post Net to make colour copies of the picture for the girls to copy.
Connor and I had a cuppa coffee at Fego before coming home and I packed up all my stuff (I was really disorganised and had actually thought of phoning Alison on Thursday night and saying that I was not going to come through but decided that I would just pack everything and sort myself out there ~ It took me the whole of Friday afternoon and night and a bit of Saturday morning to get everything done ... Sorted out the 300+ photos I had printed before Digital Eye closed down ~ this was a HUGE job, sorted my papers and scraps, got my To Do book up to date).
My packs
I had a lovely drive through to Good Shepherd and when I got there the previous group was only checking out so I had to wait a while before I could arrange the room where we scrap so I got the urn going, moved the stuff out of my car and by the time the girls got there the room was sorted and our bedrooms were nearly ready.
The girls designed the most beautiful pages and I can't wait to do them when I get back from Umhlanga.
The weekend was filled with amazing company, great food and lots of scrapbooking.
Here are some photos ...

Leonie looking like a teacher while presenting her pack
Then came Linda's presentation.
And last but not least ... Lynette.
On Saturday night we had a power failure ... some of the plugs and lights worked and some didn't ... very confusing for us.  This is Leonie and Lynette sitting in the dark ... Leonie was still scrapping in the dark ...
Ali moved her chair into the entrance hall where the light was still working and continued with her page ...
Fortunately we only lost about an hour and half of valuable scrapping time.
As usual I came away from the weekend feeling refreshed and rejuvenated by the company of this group of amazing women!!!  Love you girls!!!
