JENNY & FRENCH TOAST

Sunday 24 January 2016 : This morning we met my youngest sister Jenny for brunch at French Toast in Hartebeespoort ~ When she mentioned it I remembered my friend Eddie saying he had been there in December ... I was really excited to try somewhere new.

This is what it says on the internet about ...

The French Toast Coffee Cafe was specially built as the official ‘Bar’ in the film French Toast, which in Montmartre, Paris, France playback, and it is known as Café Alexandre in the movie.
A portion of the building is allocated as a gallery that also appears in the movie and is now incorporated with the rest of the Coffee Cafe, which creates a unique atmosphere to the movie set.
Currently the film set / Coffee Café is open 7 days a week from 07h30 to 17h00 and can accommodate in the region of 150 people.

Eiffel Tower  Construction
During the filming of the movie in Paris is certain elements brought back to the movie set for the public to enjoy, such as a 12.5m Eiffel tower, and the ‘I love you wall’ and even a lock bridge where you can seal your love forever.

At last I was able to give Jenny her Christmas gift and she gave me an absolutely stunning birthday gift ... The ring and cross have got garnets in them which is my birth stone ~ I was absolutely bowled over by this thoughtful gift.  I love spending time with her and getting to know her better.

We had to go through the menu very carefully as the choices were awesome ... The whole menu is different variations of French Toast ... And knowing me ... you expected me to post pictures of the food!!!  And I will not disappoint!!!

Connor and I had the Banane caramelisee pain francais ... which is
"Golden friend French toast and caramelised banana topped with a peanut butter sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream".

Oh boy!!!! It was delicious.

Steph had the Berry et Fromage which is  "Golden friend French toast layered with a cream cheese mousse and berry compote".

Of course photos are necessary ...

We spent 4 hours at the restaurant and Jenny and I could have spent many more hours chatting but we had to tear ourselves away from each other.  On our way home we went past the Super Spar in Hendrik Potgieter Road to buy meat as it is an awesome Spar.

Next is dinner followed by Strictly Come Dancing, Downtown Abbey and then to bed to gather strength to face the week ahead.

Hope y'all had a great weekend and are ready for the new week.
