Mothers Day ~ 11 May

This morning we were woken at 04h40 by our neighbour moving his cars around ... he is a short Portuguese man and I am not sure if he battles to get his feet to the pedals in his vehicles but he revs both his vehicles terribly ... and when he got the first one out the alarm was going and it took about 5 minutes for him to get it switched off ... so that was my sleep finished.  I got up and made my hunny a cuppa tea and he was out the front door just after 05h30 for a ride on his bike.  I decided to update my blog and then jumped in the shower and got ready to go out for breakfast.

The reason I am called "Mom"
We met him at The Café du Cirque (a quaint circus coffee shoppe, has become the meeting place of note for both locals and out-of-towners. As it is on the cycle training route, the weekend early mornings are alive with cyclist from near and far. The menu boasts a selection of delicious meals, presented with a flair all of its own. Full catering and bar facilities are on offer.) in Meyerton for breakfast ~ we arrived about 15 minutes before him and it was FREEZING cold.  When he arrived it took a while for him to defrost ... he had already ridden 275km's and had had a good time.  We had french toast and Connor had a banana & caramel pancake which he really enjoyed.

The circus theme menu is very cleverly done ...

All the Moms were given this sweet gift.
On he way home we popped past The Glen and saw Byron at Musica and a quick visit to Exclusive Books.  We spent some time at home and at 5 we went back to The Glen and picked Byron up and gave him a lift home where we had a cuppa coffee with his Mom to say "Happy Birthday for tomorrow".  Back home and a lovely dinner of sweet & sour chicken and then spent some time quietely in front of the TV and I finished my book "PowerPlay by Danielle Steel" which I will now drop off with my friend Saras when I go to 135 Rivonia Road tomorrow morning.

All in all a lovely Mother's Day.

Other Mothers Day gifts given ...
For my Mom/Connor's Nana.  Like my Gran before her, my Mom LOVES sweets so this is always a great gift idea, we also got her some of her favourite CashewNutBrittle (I just need to put a photo of Connor in the frame)

I am seeing Connor's GodMother, Linda, tomorrow morning and this is what he got her (she LOVES Marmite so we always add a bottle, the bigger the better, to her gift ...
