A relaxing Saturday ~ 10 May

This morning we were out the door by around 9 ... the boys on their motorbikes and me following behind in my car.  Our destination = Full Throttle in Edenvale.  Connor is riding so well that I am sure he will be ready for his license test soon.  We got him a pair of riding boots and then stopped by De Molen which is a restaurant/ pancake house situated inside a windmill in Edenvale.

Connor and I ordered a banana and caramel pancake and, being used to the way they are served at Cafe Society, we were disappointed ~ the pancake is served open (and looks more like a pizza), the banana is cooked and mushy and what little caramel sauce there is is applied to the pancake like butter and by the time you get the pancake you need to try and identify if there is any caramel sauce there.  Richard had a burger which he thoroughly enjoyed.  I love this photo I took of my boys ...

On our way home we drive past the Rand Refinery plant (Established by the Chamber of Mines of South Africa in 1920, Rand Refinery is the largest integrated single-site precious metals refining and smelting complex in the world).  Now most of these types of businesses look really grubby but this place amazes me every time I drive past and today the traffic light was red so I managed to take this photo.
These are Connor's boots ~ they are smart enough to wear all day once he is able to ride his motorbike to college.

Connor wanted to see his cousins so we popped past Woolies and got some munchies and spent the afternoon visiting them.

My precious god-daughter Taryn had arranged with Wendy to get me a Mother's Day gift ... A voucher for a delux pedi @ Sorbet ~ I will book this for just before I got away for a week to scrapbook in June and some Sorbet foaming bath.  It is so wonderful to be spoiled!!!

Wendy gave me a gorgeous grape coloured jersey and a bar of Justine Tissue Oil soap.

We gave Wendy this little gift ...

Connor was craving a Spur Burger so we gave Mom the evening off and popped to Spur at The Glen ... I enjoyed the Cheddar Melt Burger and banana milkshake that I ordered.  Spent the rest of the night in front of the TV with my book.
