A short week ...

This has been a rather busy week ....

Monday I spent the day in an HR Session with the branch team leaders from the Greater West Rand area and we had a wonderful day of sharing and updating.  I decided that I didn't want to get them the usual fare of KFC, Nando's of pizzas for lunch so I did a 'build yourself a roll' which everyone enjoyed.  I managed to get a picture of the sunrise in my car mirror.

Tuesday we had to attend a Roadshow and it was very uncomfortable because we joined with another Region and the auditorium was bulging.  After the roadshow I spent the rest of the day at my desk and then rushed out to meet Richard and Vodacom so we could transfer his contract over from Nashua ... OMGoodness!!!!  He had 2 days of frustration trying to get his phone working as the consultant who helped him didn't do the transfer properly.  I have to pop into Vodacom this morning (Friday) to finalize something on the contract.

Wednesday and Thursday was spent at The Riviera on the Vaal at our Branch Managers Conference.  I got to the venue early on Wednesday and logged onto my laptop and completed some work.  The Conference started at 09h30 and we ended up around 5, checked into our rooms and then had dinner.  I socialized with some of my old managers for a while and went back to my room at 8 and worked until just before midnight when my colleague Delphine returned to our room.  I slept in a bit on Thursday morning and after breakfast we met with the boss to discuss a return we had to do.  Just after the first speaker started I had to leave the room to go and find out where one of the managers were and spent the next hour speaking to him.  We were supposed to finish around 13h30 (including lunch) but ended up getting to lunch after 2.  I sat with my friend Marina and we did some catching up and then I started the drive home.  I needed to have photos printed (another thing on my "To Do"list) so I picked Connor up at home and we went through to a place in Mondeor ~ HORRIBLE service so we drove through to Alberton City and Richard met us there.  I went into Kodak and their service was amazing so although I could not get the size I wanted I did the printing of my 1,075 photos with them.  We spent a quiet evening at home and I caught up with some of my programs on PVR.

In this photo of my colleagues and me the flash certainly did me no favours!!!

Our room was decorated in my favourite colour ... burnt orange!!!

The view from our bedroom on Wednesday afternoon.

And then on Friday morning ...
While waiting to go to dinner on Wednesday evening I took some photos ...

I am amazed that I managed to catch the rays from the setting sun ...

My friend Sam took these photos of me ... I am amazed at how still the water is in the river and the amazing reflections!
"No Sam!!!! Don't jump!!!!!!
As we were going into dinner my "other son" Mpho popped in for a quick photo.

Sunrise on Friday morning ... eerily beautiful!!!
This was the view when we had our meeting after breakfast ... Now I could live with this.
On our way home from Alberton Connor took this photo of the setting sun ...
Today is a holiday in South Africa so I am now off to jump in the shower, go to Vodcom, get stuff for Sunday breakfast (I'm scrapping tomorrow and Sunday!!!!! Yippeee!!!!!!!!!!!) fetch my photos in Alberton and then come home and pack for the weekend.

In the classics it is said that "every cloud has a silver lining" ... I found mine last Sunday evening on our way home ..

  1. Your photos are beautiful. My favourite is the one of the reflections in the water. I hope you are having a lovely scrapping weekend.
