care  (kâr)

: to feel interest in something : to be interested in or concerned about something
: to feel affection for someone
: to want to do something or to be something
When I was thinking about my word for 2014 this message came into my life and it just cemented the word for me ...

If all you care about is what's in it for you, there won't be much in it for you.
If all you care about is what other people think of you, people won't think very highly of you.

What you care about has a powerful impact on the way your life unfolds.  So instead of caring so much about what you think you need, put your energy into caring for all that you have.

You have life, and great possibilities, and other people with whom to enjoy it all.  You ahve a universe filled with beauty and wonder, and the opportunity to create new meaning and value.

Give living care, attention, gratitude and support to the abundance with which your world is filled.  Take good care of the good things, and they will grow ever more beneficial.

Give care, focused thought, attention and awareness to whatever you're doing, and whatever you're doing will bring meaningful, valuable results.  Give your care to making a difference, and continually put that care into action.

Lift up life by caring for it.  Give true care, and the rewards are immense.  ~  Ralph Marston

As I sat here typing this message the devil is very busy with me saying "Why that word, that's silly, what about something else" and my response is ... "Away with you satan!!!!"

The reason for my word is that during 2013 I have felt myself get more and more angry and more and more distant and hard hearted and I really don't like that in me.  I want to care about me, about my family, about the environment, about the why's and wherefor's.

And although Christine Cain says you mustn't ... I chose a secondary word which is pa·tience (Now this is a HUGE challenge for me!!!)

:  the capacity, habit, or fact of being patient (see 1patient)

adjective \ˈpā-shənt\  : able to remain calm and not become annoyed when waiting for a long time or when dealing with problems or difficult people

  1. Well done on taking the first step - choosing your word/s! The real challenge is to embed the word into our everyday lives and make it meaningful so that it transforms and renews us. Love ya!

  2. I love your word. You have never struck me as a hard hearted person....I have just seen love for those around you. I know that God is going to bless you this year in this walk xxx.

  3. A wonderful word for 2014. We have become a no care society in which everyone is just for themselves. So caring is definitely the way to go.
