THE COOKIE PROJECT

My precious friends Ian (a.k.a. "My Boyfriend") and Col Sim gifted me this gorgeous Cookie Jar book.  I decided that for Christmas this year I would add home-made biscuits to the selection of tea and cuppaccino that formed the base of their gift.

I enlisted the help of my hunny and my boy to assist me in this project.

So after dinner tonight, 11 December 2018, we hit the kitchen.

Connor and Dad started by blanching the almonds (obviously with the assistance of YouTube) for the shortbread ~ I could not find blanched almonds anywhere.  They were then put into the oven to roast for 10 minutes.

While the nuts were roasting and I was mixing the batter for the choc chip cookies they took on  chopping up the dark Lindt chocolate ... OMGoodness!!!!  Look how cute my hunny looks with his hands covered in Lindt chocolate ...
When the nuts came out the oven the first batch of choc chip cookies went in and we carried on this process until they were all baked ...

In between this we made the shortbread mixture and got it ready for the oven ...

They looked really great ... even for the first time that we tackled shortbread (although next time we will bake it for longer).

I hope Ian and Col will enjoy our "gift from the 💖!!!
