AN UNPLANNED LUNCH

20 May 2018: Today I popped round to the retirement village where my friend Nats' father-in-law lives but he was not 'home' as his daughter had taken him out for the day.  I phoned Wendy to see if she was around to have coffee as I was in her part of the world.  She was on her way back from her friend Jacqui's place and suggested we meet at this little Parisian place Patisierrie de Paris in McKay Avenue in Blairgowrie (the same road where my hunny grew up).

We both had our crochet projects with us so while waiting for our lunch order we got on and did a few rows.  We both ordered quiche and salad ... It was seriously yummy and we spent some time catching up.  Unplanned events like this are always awesome.

This is what their website says ...

Welcome

"Bonjour!"

Patisserie de Paris is a genuine patisserie and boulangerie - pastry shop and bakery - based in Johannesburg, utilising traditional French baking techniques and chic continental style, all produced by a French-trained pastry chef and baker.

You'll find our bakery, patisserie and coffee shop at 9 Mackay Avenue Blairgowrie open every day of the week from 06h30. We also trade at the Bryanston Organic and Natural Market (every Thursday and Saturday 09h00 - 15h00). We are also happy to cater privately or bake special order celebratory cakes for collection at the Blairgowrie bakery or the Bryanston Market.

And, a bonus! We also speak French.

On Monday I popped past the retirement village again and spent some time chatting to Nat's father-in-law and took this photo of him and sent a What'sApp message to her saying "Look who I am chatting to".  He is a lovely, charming gentleman who is battling to settle down into the swing of things as he is as he says "a family man" who is used to living in a family home.
