A QUICK VISIT TO MISS WOOD

4 - 6 May 2018: My friend Linda Le Warne and I have wanted to visit Linda Wood in Cape Town for quite a while now and we decided on this weekend ... Linda booked our tickets and then her Mom unfortunately had a very bad fall and broke her femur in 3 places so Linda was unable to go with me but we decided that instead of wasting both tickets that I should still go.  When I was checking in a Lanseria I only had hand luggage and had thrown my bag of crochet hooks into my bag at the last minute and when it went through the X-Ray they were not happy with how many hooks I had so I asked if I could rather go and put it back in my car which they allowed me to do ~ It would have been quite an expensive exercise to replace all those crochet hooks!  When I got back inside I realized that the lady had put the hook I was using into the little bag so I was left with wool but no hook so I resorted to playing games on my phone.

Although our flight left a bit late I still landed in Cape Town on time (my hunny says it was because we were flying down hill!!!) and on our way to Linda's house we stopped off at Simply Asia for dinner ... The food was absolutely awesome ~ Their kitchen is madly busy with take-away orders and we had quite a wait but it was well worth it.

On Saturday morning we popped past the wool shop in Linda's area and I bought some gorgeous Elle Chunky wool and a new crochet hook (to add the the growing collection) and we drove through to Blaauwberg to meet our friends Andy and Lynette and another old friend that we know from the bank Phyl Franz for breakfast.  It is really strange that although there were 3 scrapbookers at that table not one of us took a single photo.  After a lovely time with Andy and Lynette we dropped Phyl's car at home and drove through to Hout Bay to visit a market there.  We walked through the many stalls they have there and then had some coffee and cake at one of the kiosks.  The drive back was lovely and after dropping Phyl at home we stopped off and bought some steaks which Linda cooked us for dinner.  We spent the evening quietly at Linda's house.

We had a lazy morning on Sunday and then went to Saxenburg Wine Estate for lunch at the Cattle Baron.  The food was awesome and before we knew it it was time to rush to the airport.

Thanks for an awesome weekend Miss Wood ... Can't wait to do it again and hopefully this time I will have Linda Le Warne securely at my side.
