Catching up ...

I wanted to do a post on Sunday night called "Weekend in Review" but didn't get there ... why??? Well Strictly Come Dancing, followed by an hour of reading while The Cube was on and then the return of Downton Abbey (Yippeeeeee!!!!!!!!!).

So here I am, Tuesday late afternoon, listening to Flylady on the net and decided to do a quick post ~ so here goes ...
FRIDAY 9th August was a public holiday (Women's Day) and dawned cold and wet.  I had to get my scrapping stuff into the car really quickly so that it didn't get wet as it was raining quite hard.  When I left the house my hunny was still in bed which was a VERY unusual thing but he obviously needed the rest.
I spent the day scrapping with my special friend Alison ... none of the other Scrap Addicts were available so we went ahead and spent the day scrapping anyways.  When I got to Ali's house she had baked us some lemon cupcakes ~ we started out with an un-iced, warm cupcake with coffee ... delicious!!!!  Ali then iced the rest of the cupcakes and we had another one at tea time.  I got 8 pages done and am now generally finished with the Wedding Album ... just need to do another once-over to see if anything is missing.  Next step is to get the "album" finished ... my hunny worked on it on Sunday so it is moving along.  I cannot wait to deliver this order then I can start on the next job.  Friday night was spent quietly at home.
Ali is the master of the 'lang arm' photo
The sunset on the way home was spectacular but I battled to get good photos.
SATURDAY 10th August started out with Connor and I going to Sandton City ~ I had to do some work with the Branch Manager and then Connor and I went suit shopping.  We managed to get him a jacket that he liked and got such bad service in the Men's Department at Edgars that we left without a pair of trousers.  We had a quick lunch at Doppio Zero (certainly wont be rushing back there!!!) and then popped into Incredible Connection where Connor spent some of his 18th birthday money on a Kindle (which he is LOVING!!! as it fits snugly into his blazer pocket so he gets to read very easily at school without lugging a big book around).  We popped past Wendy for a cuppa coffee and Liam came home with us and spent the night.
One of Richard's friends, Jacques, came round to have his motorbike serviced and afterwards him, Richard and Graeme went riding ... Graeme had a problem with his motorbike's clutch so the two boys escorted him home ... I was so excited to see Richard ~ he didn't know I was there and I didn't know he was coming round ... and they stopped in for a cuppa coffee.
Mom had made us delicious veggie soup for dinner and we spent the rest of the night under a blanket in front of the TV with me reading my book on my tablet.
SUNDAY 11th August dawned really cold again.  Connor had invited us out to breakfast so we  braved the cold and went to Fego at The Glen.  After breakfast we did a quick bit of shopping and then back home.  After dropping Liam at home I spent the evening in front of the TV and each time there was an advert I read my book ... it was so addictive that I spent every free minute reading.

Two super cute boys!!!
Well, as we know, Sunday night means that Monday is nipping at our heels!!!

MONDAY 12th August : After dropping the boys at school it took me 15 minutes to get to Flora Centre (Wow!!!) where I worked until 8 when my boss joined me for our first one-on-one chat.  Although we only had an hour booked we spent two hours speaking about a myriad of topics and then I was off to Town Square to do prep for a hearing we are having next week.  I met my friend Ann Veldon, who had retired at the end of May and sadly lost her husband in the same month, for a cuppa hot chocolate and catch up.  She is enjoying her retirement and is looking really well.
Last night I spent my time in front of the TV watching Flashpoint and reading ... I usually hate advert breaks but could not wait for them so I could get in a few minutes of reading.  It was really cold so after Flashpoint I jumped into bed and finished my book.  You know when you are reading a really good book you can't wait to see what happens but are really sad when it is finished ... this is exactly how I felt at the end of this book.  I am glad I have it on my tablet as I think it is something I could read again.  My friend Alison had spoken about it on her blog and I decided to download it and I am so happy I did.  The book is The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul by Deborah Roderiguez.
TUESDAY 13th August : I caught up on e-mails at Mugg & Bean in Sandton City (they make REALLY good coffee!!!) then spent the rest of the day in the manager's office doing hearing prep and working.  I had a wonderful, uneventful trip home and now that I am finished with my blog catch up I am going to start my next book which Connor downloaded for me ~ Could you find it ... by Robert Cilley who is Fly Lady's husband.
Hope you have had a good day and that the rest of the week is frenetic free!!!
