Friday morning dawned rather chilly but I was up at the normal time. I packed my car and then decided to take my young man out for breakfast as he was not writing an exam. We had breakfast at his favourite place ~ Fego Café @ The Glen. I dropped him off at home, and thankfully remembered to take my warm jacket with me, and drove through to The Good Shepherd Retreat in Haartebeespoort. I got there around 12 and they allowed me to sort out our room. I unpacked and set myself up before Leonie arrived, followed by Alison & Lynette. Sharol (is a lady we met at a scrap day joined us for the weekend) and Linda arrived a little later.
We spent the weekend scrapping and chatting up a storm ~ we managed to get some stunning sunset photos.
I worked really hard on the Wedding Project ... was hoping to get it finished this weekend but it was not to be. Here are the pages I did ...
This photo didn't come out too well as I photographed it in the page protector. |
Here comes the bride is a mini booklet with photos of Bianca and her Dad walking down the aisle of the church.
All I could think about when I was doing this page was the movie The Little Mermaid where the crab is saying "You gotta kiss the girl".
I am really happy with how this title came out!!! |
I didn't photograph the facing page. |
I added a little metal key to this saying. |
The letters on this title were in my gift bag (we each put 2 gifts into a gift bag for the ladies that attend ... it is like a scrapping lucky packet!!!)
This part of the title is a pocket where I tucked the card with beautiful into. |
Normally I like to do these two pages facing each other but unfortunately the pages didn't work out that way so the Flowers page follows the Words page.
I adore these two pages ... I bought the LOVE letters at Crafters Market ... The saying is "LOVE does not consist in gazing at each other but in looking together in the same direction". |
I ran out of paper after finishing the facing page (don't know why I didn't take a photo of it!!!) so on Monday morning I worked on a mini album with the left over photos from the book I made for Byron to give to Kayla on their 1 year anniversary ~The photos are mainly of of Kayla so I will give it to Byron as a keepsake.
We left the convent around 11 and drove through to Scrap-a-Doodles to do some retail therapy ... I was VERY relieved to get the paper and page protectors I needed. We had a quick toasted sarmie and a coffee before hitting the road ... I arrived home around 3 and unpacked but have not finished unpacking all my stuff yet. I was delighted to get a call from my niece Taryn in America and we had a long chat and after dinner I spent some time on the couch with my sweet hunny.
Today I spent the day in an IR Course and am pretty exhausted so I am going to do some gentle work at my scrap table and organise some more of my stuff so I can get back to working on the Wedding Project.
Hope you all had a stunning Tuesday. Keep warm and sleep tight.
I am so glad that you had such a productive weekend. Your pages ard beautiful and I believe that only in Africa can you capture such golden sunsets.
ReplyDeleteThe pages are gorgeous! I think you should put one of those little play back thingies on the page with a snipped of the frog singing 'go on and kiss the girl' ;-)
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great weekend
Oh wow your sunset pics are awesome and it seems like the grey loerie was very happy to pose for you.
