KNEE BLANKETS FOR THE ELDERLY

My best friend from school, Terry Palmer, asked me to join her in crocheting knee blankets for the elderly in one of our neighbouring suburbs.

Terry and Alison
I started crocheting in earnest in January 2020 and have made 10 blankets myself and gotten donations from my talented friend Alison as well as 3 beauties from Arina Kamffer who I know from Nedbank ~ We were chatting about crocheting at National Scrapbooking day on 1 February 2020 and she said she had made these blankets and didn;t know what to do with them.  I quickly told her about our project and she said she would love to give them to me.

I asked Terry to pop round to my house in March when we were scrapbooking as I wanted her to meet Alison ... This lovely photo is of the three of us with 3 of the blankets.

I now have 20 completed blankets waiting for delivery and am one row and a border away from finishing another one ... This was planned as an Easter Project however with the current lock-down we are going to have to make it later.

These are the three beautiful blankets made and donated by Arina.

These are 4 of the blanks I made.  The second one is made mainly from wool I received from my friend Linda Le Warne and her daughter Khrystyn.
