We have renamed our quarterly weekend to SCRAP ADDICTS CROCHET & SCRAPBOOK RETREAT.21 to 22 March 2020 ~ We were supposed to spend the weekend at Leonie's house but unfortunately she had been in contact with someone at work whose partner was tested positive for the Corona Virus so she was in self isolation which was really sad.
We had booked to attend a Crochet For
Cansa function on the 21st at Casa Toscana Lodge but because 155 ladies had booked it had to be postponed as gatherings of more than 100 people are banned currently. We were asked if we were going to attend the function in June that we please collect our goodie bags at the Lodge.
I suggested to Ali that I pick her up, we drive through to Pretoria to fetch our goodie bags at the Lodge and then have brunch somewhere. Of course Industrial Coffee Worx came to mind and we settled on that as we could already imagine the taste of a Viking Coffee. When we arrived at the Lodge the security guard at the gate gave us hand sanitiser and advised that he had to take our temperature before we were allowed to enter ... Ali sent this picture to the girls on WhatsApp with the caption "No it's not a hold up. He's checking Lynn's temperature".
We had an awesome brunch and a delicious Viking coffee. While waiting for our order we pulled out our crocheting and our waitress chatted to us and told us that she had learned to crochet at school and that we had made her want to go straight home and pull out her crochet stuff ... We really hope that she did that as we love to inspire others to be creative.
When we got back to Ali's house I had to spend a while getting everything sorted out as I had not scrapbooked since February as I had been so busy crocheting. Once I was organised I got going and had a lot of fun and before I knew it it was Sunday late afternoon and time to pack up and go home.
